Use the official postage calculator as a starting point, then confirm the final payable amount and service availability at the booking counter.

Before paying postage, confirm the selected service, destination, parcel weight, charges and tracking options with the booking counter.

If tracking shows an attempted delivery, review the latest scan and contact the delivery post office using the consignment number for guidance.

Electronics need suitable cushioning and a strong outer package. Check battery and other restricted-item rules with India Post before booking.

Verify the destination PIN code against the complete locality and district before booking. A correct PIN code supports accurate sorting and routing.

A complete sender address helps identify the parcel if it cannot be delivered. Add readable sender details before taking the item to the post office.

Measure the parcel and note its weight before visiting the counter. Service limits and charges depend on the product and current postal rules.

For valuable articles, ask the post office which services and compensation or insurance provisions currently apply. Do not assume every parcel is automatically insured.

When sending household goods, pack each parcel securely, label it clearly and keep a simple list of the items in each package.

For multiple household parcels, use clear labels and a dispatch list so the sender and receiver can identify each package.
