Before you book
Keep documents in a clean, waterproof inner sleeve and use a rigid envelope so pages do not bend. Write the recipient’s full name, complete address, PIN code and a reachable phone number.
At the post office
Ask the counter which domestic mail product suits the size, weight, urgency and contents. Confirm current charges and any applicable restrictions before payment.
Keep proof
Save the booking receipt and consignment number. Use the official India Post tracking page to check available scans; a scan may take time to appear.
