Packing guide · Updated practical checklist
Good packing reduces the chance of damage during handling. The sender is responsible for choosing suitable packaging and checking whether the item is accepted by the selected postal service.
Packing checklist
- Choose a strong box suited to the item’s size and weight
- Wrap each item separately with suitable cushioning
- Fill empty spaces so contents do not move freely
- Seal the package securely without covering the address
- Write sender and recipient details clearly
At the booking counter
Describe the contents accurately and ask whether the item is permitted. Check applicable size, weight, packaging and destination restrictions before booking.
Keep proof
Retain the receipt and any booking reference. Do not assume every fragile or valuable item is covered by compensation or insurance.
