Postal services guide · Practical checklist
A passbook is an important record of transactions in a Post Office Savings Account. Review entries periodically and raise discrepancies with the account-holding post office.
What to review
- Account holder name and account details
- Date and amount of each deposit or withdrawal
- Interest entries when posted
- Closing balance after recorded transactions
If an entry appears incorrect
Keep the passbook and supporting deposit or withdrawal receipt ready. Ask the post office to verify the transaction in its records and explain the correction process.
Protect your account
Do not share account credentials, OTPs or sensitive personal information with unknown callers. Use official India Post banking channels for account-related help.
