International postal items are subject to India Post acceptance rules, transport restrictions and the destination country’s import requirements. A product accepted domestically may still be restricted for international dispatch.
Before packing
- Describe the contents accurately
- Check India Post’s current prohibited and restricted item guidance
- Check destination-country import rules
- Ask whether special declarations or supporting documents are required
At the counter
Tell the booking staff what the parcel contains. Do not conceal restricted items or use a misleading description on a customs declaration.
