India Post guide
A Post Box can provide a designated postal address for receiving mail where the facility is available. Confirm the terms and arrangements with the relevant post office before using one.
Questions for the post office
- Is a Post Box facility available at this branch?
- What application, identity or contact details are required?
- What are the current rental charges and renewal conditions?
- When and how can mail be collected?
Using the address
Ask the post office for the correct address format and box number. Share it with senders exactly as instructed by the branch.
Keep documents
Retain the allotment or payment receipt and note any renewal or collection instructions provided by the post office.
